Janelle completed her undergraduate studies at Kansas Wesleyan University where she received a Bachelors’ Degrees in Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice with a minor in Spanish.  Janelle attended Fort Hays State University where she completed her Graduate studies receiving a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Pre-Law and a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling.

Janelle has nearly 15 years of experience working within the Mental Health field, working with children as young as 3 years old through adulthood (75 +).  Janelle has experience providing Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, Couples Counseling and Family Therapy services for a wide range of concerns and diagnosis.  Janelle has a great deal of training and experience in providing Parent Management Training to parents who are struggling with children and adolescents who are displaying oppositional and aggressive behaviors.

Janelle is trained to utilize a range of Therapeutic interventions and theories which include Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Solution-Focused, Narrative, Dialectic Behavioral, Experiential, Systems Theory, Faith Based Counseling, and providing Psychological Evaluations.  Janelle also has experience working with individuals struggling with Addiction, utilization of Play Therapy interventions with children, conflict resolution, communication, and working with individuals who have experienced some form of Trauma.

Prior to starting her second career as a Mental Health Provider, Janelle worked as a Law Enforcement Officer within the state of Kansas for nearly a decade.  During her Law Enforcement Career Janelle had the opportunity to work in the community as a Patrol Officer, SWAT Member, and Detective.  She brings this experience and knowledge into her practice and is motivated to provide care and support to Law Enforcement Officers and their Families when given the opportunity.

Janelle is the proud mother to Bradley, McKenzie and Maddison, and is happily married to her husband Seth.
